【Precautions for Syringe Injection】

When using a syringe to inject, you can quickly select the injection volume and repeat the adjustment (regular ± 5% error, skilled ± 1% error). When using a microliter syringe for injection, you can follow the following recommendations:

1. Coordinated operation, so that the sample can be injected as quickly and accurately as possible. The syringe should stay in the inlet for 2 s after pressing the needle bar.

2. Hold the syringe as close to the edge (surface or unscaled area) as possible. This prevents heat transfer when holding the syringe with your fingers. The syringe holder prevents heat transfer from your fingers and makes it easier to puncture the septum.

3. Touch the button on the top of the needle bar with your finger instead of the needle bar. This can reduce the possibility of damage and contamination.

4. For maximum accuracy, the injection volume should be less than the maximum capacity of the syringe. When the injected sample contains components with a wide boiling point, fractional distillation may occur unless the syringe has a solvent plug (cut with an air bubble), Follow the sample into the injection port.

5. Before sampling into the syringe, moisten the inner surface of the syringe (needle barrel or needle plug) with the sample by pulling the needle bar to ensure accurate sampling volume.

6. Withdraw the sample from the sample bottle that exceeds the required injection volume, withdraw the syringe from the bottle, move the needle plug to the required graduation line, discard the excess sample, and do not attach droplets to the syringe head.

7. Before injection, clean the injection needle with cotton-free sassafras. The action is fast. Be careful not to draw the sample from the syringe or transfer body heat from the finger to the needle tube.

8. Visually inspect the air bubbles in the syringe or foreign objects in the sample.

9. When disassembling a syringe with a syringe, take extra care because the syringe has a dead volume, pressurize the sample vial with an airtight syringe filled with inert gas, and repeat this operation as necessary to build up pressure in the vial.

10. When using viscous samples, use coarse-hole needles.

11. Do not use blunt or damaged needles, and do not tighten the septum nut too tightly, otherwise the septum life will be shortened. Since high temperature can also shorten the septum life, it is recommended to use a nut with a heat sink to maintain At low temperatures, all septa will eventually leak. Changing a septum every day is a good measure to prevent leakage. More analysis tasks should be replaced more often. Some septa can last 150 injections, but it is best to replace them regularly before this.

【How to use the syringe】

1. Before use, you must check for needle burrs, needle curls, and simple body cracks. In order to eliminate the residue of the previous sample between the samples, you need to use the sample for 5 to 20 cleanings. But the first 2 to 3 samples must be discarded.

2. In order to remove air bubbles from the syringe, immerse the needle tip in the sample solution and repeat the extraction and pushing operation. (It is easy to remove air bubbles by moving the needle upward.)

3. Take more samples than the final required amount, and then align with the scale. Be careful not to tilt the syringe. Wipe the tip of the needle with paper that does not produce fine fibers before injecting.

4. After use, it must be cleaned with pure water or acetone, and stored after air drying.

【Sample cleaning method】

For the solvent used to clean the syringe, the solubility of the residual substances (used samples, etc.) must be considered. Pure water or methanol, acetone, etc. are usually used.

Cleaning the entire syringe

1. Clean with warm water and non-alkaline, non-phosphorus detergent

2. Use pure water or acetone to extract and push out, and perform short-time cleaning.

3. Dry with air.

Mandrel cleaning

1. After cleaning, clean the mandrel with a clean cloth, etc., and then put it back into the syringe.

2. When loading the syringe, please pay attention to whether the mandrel is bent.

Syringe cleaning

1. When cleaning the needle, be careful not to block the needle eye.

2. Fill the syringe with cleaning solvent and push the core rod in firmly.

3. Be careful not to curl the tip of needles with sharp tip (PT-2, PT-4, etc.). In case the needle tip curls, use a needle grinder to grind.

[Notes on the use of syringes]

1. Do not immerse the syringe in the solvent. Will cause cracking of the bonded part.

2. Do not place the syringe in an environment with rapid temperature changes. Will cause damage.

3. Do not leave the syringe in strong acid or polar solvents for a long time. Will cause cracking and damage.

4. The epoxy resin adhesive is used for the connection between the needle and barrel of the fixed needle injection needle. Therefore, the adhesive may flow out due to the erosion of the sample used or the cleaning solvent. Please select the appropriate syringe according to the sample used.

[Notes on the use of mandrel]

1. The core rod (metal core rod) of the micro-injection needle is matched with each syringe separately, so the core rod cannot be exchanged.

2. Do not push or pull the core rod when the inside of the syringe is dry (in the state where the sample or the like is not drawn), otherwise the inside of the syringe may be damaged.

3. The bent mandrel will negatively affect the use of the syringe, so please pay attention to whether the mandrel is bent.

4. Do not push or pull the core rod when the needle is clogged. Due to the high pressure, cracks may occur on the barrel.

[About autoclaving of the injection needle]

HAMILTON's replacement needle injection needles (except for SL injection needles), needles, syringes, core rods and other parts can be autoclaved in a split state.

When autoclaving, the normal setting is lang = EN-US110 ℃, and the treatment time is about 20 minutes.
